We’ve been revving up for 2012, and so much has been happening! I know you’ve been watching us stuff our faces on Food Hound: Tidbits! We have done at least one a week at this point, and have so many more on the way! In fact, we are checking out a local BBQ spot right here on Long Island in a couple hours!! I’m so excited, this spot has a very unique menu, and loaded fries that look oh-so-tasty! Lets get some rib on!!

Talking about food, we actually went to go have some lunch with our friends at Eastsport and Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (you know the lead guitarist of Gun ‘N Roses)! An official announcement will be released concerning our relationship with this massive backpack company shortly, but for right now, what you need to know is that you can enter our Bumblefoot contest!! Bumblefoot will be featured in our latest issue of Brimstone and the Borderhounds! You get to decide if he is sporting his beard or if he is clean shaven in his appearance. Go over to the contest page now and enter!!

We have a lot coming up, so make sure to keep up with the action at HoundComics.com!

The New Books Are Almost Here!!

So many new comics are coming out, I’m getting jittery! Last we left off M3, our protagonist had stumbled into a room with a dead man and a shotgun to her head. What goes down next is amazing! Issue #4 of M3 is a spectacular display of continuing story lines, beautifully drawn art, and constantly developing characters. If you have not picked up an issue of M3 to read, get on it!! Hound Comics is extremely proud to publish this title.

Also coming soon, a brand new special edition of Brimstone and the Borderhounds…. Luscious: Rikers Island! Luscious finds himself all locked up, but who’s really in danger here? Will Luscious make it a day without his bucket of chicken?! Find out in this explosive and amazing story!

Also coming up is the newest issue of Brimstone and the Borderhounds, Brotherly Love! What happens when Brim is faced with a hard decision? How is going to come and help save the day? What happened that made a brothers’ bond shatter? Will any of these questions be answered?? Find out when Brotherly Love hits shelves!

Check out these titles and more at Hound Comics!

Om Nom Nom!

Anyone who pays attention to our updates knows that we are not only quickly rising up as one of the hottest comic books, but that we are also expanding our horizons with food! Everywhere we go, we find the places that everyone is talking about and then put them to the Food Hound’s test!

Since starting this venture in the foodie world, we’ve discovered and experienced some of the most amazing restaurants and eateries. So far we’ve been to about twenty different spots, and I’m gonna lay out my personal favorite 5 for you!! This list was NOT easy to put together, and even harder to list them in any order…so this is not a “top 5″ but a “favorite 5″.

FOOD HOUNDS: TIDBITS
TOP 5

#5 – Tacos Locos

Tacos Locos was actually the first Tidbit we ever did. Story behind it was simple, Mina wanted a burrito for breakfast. The spot is nice and cozy, and right down the road from the convention center in Chicago, so if you’re there for a comic-con, trade show, or just in the area, check this place out.
FULL REVIEW

#4 – Mozaik

While in Columbus we got to see a lot of different sites. For example, the Pumpkin Show! We had a lot of fun there, but nothing will compare to our finger food experience at Mozaik! This club is a little more on the swank end of the stick, but we have no problem with that, all sorts of people come in to hang out and have a good time. We had a blast, me especially since I got some Scotch, YUM! Can’t wait to go back again!
FULL REVIEW

#3 – Turf ‘N Surf Po-Boy

Austin is town to EAT! Yes sir, there are so many restaurants, food trailers, dives… so much to fill your belly with. Turf ‘N Surf is one of the food trailers, but they do it a little differently than other trailers. Everything about the place is green, from the materials used to put it all together, to the fact that everything is fresh and healthy! Lots of fish, plenty of greens! I love this spot and you NEED NEED NEED to eat here when you’re in Austin!
FULL REVIEW

#2 – West Tavern

When it comes to having fun, the Hound family knows how to get down. We threw our very own after party for Wizard World Chicago. We had drinks, karaoke, and a ton of talent come down to join us at the West Tavern. The spot is also the home of the one and only Dirty Chef!! He is the creator of the amazing Dirty Dust, and he makes it on everything. His two hottest items are the burgers and wings. Best. Chicken. Wings. EVER.

#1 – Fogo De Chao

Ever hear of Brazilian churrascaria? It’s Brazilian BBQ! Fogo De Chao is the best churrascaria I’ve ever had. The meats were super delicious, always fresh, always coming out! In fact, meat doesn’t stop coming to your table with your meat card on go. Everything from beef, to pork and chicken…they have everything. They also have an amazing salad bar, with already made salads and different ingredients so you can make your own as well. And forget about the dessert… one word: flan. Get it, you will not regret never trying the gelatinous sweet treat that it is. I cannot, will not, and shall not stop drooling when thinking of Fogo. 5 stars, two thumbs up, you go here now.

Hey Everyone!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

2011 was a crazy awesome year with so many milestones and accomplishments that absolutely blew us away! From all the traveling to brand new projects, this past year was unbelievable.

I apologize for not updating ya’ll sooner, but now I’m back with a few updates on what was going on and what’s to come.

Here’s a quick version of everything we’ve done in the past year!

We also compiled a nice documentary style video that tells about Hound Comics’ history in the past year, and on all the folks involved with our company. From interns, to artists, to the office, everyone plays a major role in everything we do. Check this out, rate, comment and subscribe!!

We are also the proud publishers to a brand new non-fiction tale that comes straight from the mouth of the youngest law maker in the history of the world! Jamie Isaacs is making waves in politics and for people around the country by helping to write and pass the first ever anti-bullying law. She had written a book about her experiences of being bullied from the age of 8, by her best friend. This is a must read, and a huge inspiration for all ages to overcome bullying, and even for parents to help them with tips to help their children. Place your order for the book today!

You can also be on the lookout for two brand new Borderhound books! One will be a very special Luscious special! It’s titled, “Luscious: Rikers Island“. The next issue going back to the Wastelands and all the crazy happenings there, will be “Brotherly Love“. Both these books are not to be missed! They are fantastic stories, diving deeper into the lives of the major characters!

Luscious: Rikers Island
Brimstone and the Borderhounds: Brotherly Love

… And it’s all starting to all wind down, but not until after the SUPER SHOW this weekend!!

Just to catch ya’ll up, we’ve been in Austin Texas for Wizard World over the past weekend, as well as at the NJ Comic Book Expo in Teaneck, New Jersey. Both shows were a lot of fun! For the first time ever, we had Peter and Angie Mayhew signing with us at our booth promoting their children’s books! Both the illustrators were there as well. Dawn DuJour and Terry Naughton were signing their books, Growing up Giant and My Favorite Giant (respectively). For those who don’t know, Terry is actually a former 20 year Walt Disney Animation Artist, and he is now beginning some conceptual work on a comic book that we will be publishing within the next year. It is completely new and different, and just to tease it a little, it will involve gears and stuff!

Also in Texas on the talent side of things was our CEO and main man from the Wasteland Brimstone and our Lead Inker Allen Chickering. Helping keep the ball rolling you had Jerry Cates, Kim Crockett, and yours truly Etan Wish. Check out some of the video we have up, make sure you subscribe to our Youtube Channel and check out our video page to see everything we put up!

Jersey was graced with Lead Writer Marcello Carnevali, artist Mina Sanwald, and everyone’s favorite character Luscious! Also we debuted one of our brand new comics, The Protector! Not only did we have book available to buy, but both creators were there signing! Writer Chris R. Notarile and the artist, his father, Chris Notarile were signing books and talking up a storm!

This coming weekend will be off the hook!!! We will be in super force at The Great Allentown Comic Con!! Not only will your ‘regulars’ (Brim, Mina, Luscious, Marcello, Etan) be there, but so will Sajad Shah, Terry Naughton, Peter and Angie Mayhew, Low-Ki, Erica Schultz, and the Notariles! You have to check out If you are anywhere near the East Coast, you have to come down! The show itself was awesome last time we went, and now it’s been expanded to two days! Tickets start as low as $8.50, but you can get a Star Wars OR Star Trek pass for $45! Details on their page!

Erica Schultz is a new kid on our block with her comic M3. This is an awesome book, take a look inside by clicking on an issue and flipping through the pages!

Check out M3 and The Protector along with all our other products HERE.

Also, it’s Novembeard, and we are helping raise some money for two amazing charities! Check out the details and hair growth HERE!

And since we love Project Fanboy, we have a contest going on with them right now where you can win the first four issues of Brimstone and the Borderhounds, signed!!

So keep up with us! See you soon!

Eating on the Road!

We just got back into town from Wizard World in Ohio, and finally getting back into the swing of things! The trip was fantastic, we got to hang out with our Webmaster Frank and his fiance Amanda, whom we almost never get to see. Right off the bat it was like a family reunion, and with Sajad flying in on Friday, we had 6 of the Hounds on the prowl.

So you all know how much we love to eat, well turns out Columbus has some pretty good eats! We had gone to three different places, including Cici’s Pizza, a nightclub called Mozaik, and even a Mexican joint, El Vaquero! Two videos are already up, and the third will be up tonight. Enjoy some good ole eats with the Hound Family!

Since last time, we were at the Forest of Fear, NYCC and are now getting ready to go out to Ohio. It’s been absolutely crazy here trying to get everything done on time and handle all the business that rolls through here. Keep us on our toes, we are beating it all down! Here’s the footage from that haunted place…

After coming home from the Forest of Fear, it was time to get read for NYCC!

It was awesome at the Comic Con! There were so many people there, it was kinda a mad house. But being there from the beginning to the end, you get to see it being completely empty to being fuller than full!

Right after the first day, we went straight out to ZO2′s Rock Asylum, VIP style! The music and energy in the room was fantastic. We got to see a lot of good friends, eat some amazing food, and have a ton of fun with the Z’s!

And you know how much we love to eat in place off the beaten path all over the country, so you have to check out Old San Juan, a delicious Puerto Rican restaurant in Greenwood Lake, NY!

We continued to travel, next heading over to the Scranton Comic Con. It was a fun day with some really cool people. Check out the video!

As you can see, we love our new plush toys, and the folks over at Little Brass Bird are very proud! Here’s the video they put together to show them to the world!
