Marvel Teams Up With The Philadelphia Eagles & AAA To Honor Brian Dawkins

New York, NY—September 28, 2012—Marvel Entertainment, the Philadelphia Eagles and AAA are proud to announce the release of a special, limited-edition poster on Sunday, September 30th at Lincoln Financial Field in honor of NFL star Brian Dawkins. As one of the most beloved players in Philadelphia Eagles football history, Dawkins was known for both his excellence on the field and his love of Wolverine, one of Marvel’s iconic Super Heroes. This special poster, provided to fans as they arrive at the stadium for Sunday night’s game against the New York Giants, features Dawkins immortalized by artist Jorge Molina as the legendary X-Men character, complete with classic pose and Adamantium claws!

“Every week, Eagles fans witnessed Brian transform himself from a humble, mild-mannered man to the fearless competitor that he was on Sundays,” said Eagles President Don Smolenski. “He was a special player – ferocious, intense, fearless, intelligent – and on top of that, he was an incredible leader. His connection with our fans was one-of-a-kind, which is why we are excited to be working with Marvel and AAA to provide those fans with a souvenir that captures Brian in his element as ‘Weapon X.’”

Brian Dawkins’ love for Wolverine is legendary and his passion for the heroic mutant well-documented in news features with ESPN, the NY Daily News and more. From a locker full of Wolverine memorabilia to his very X-Men warm-ups and poses on field, Dawkins tenure on the Eagles will always remind fans of the Super Hero often referred to as “Weapon X”.

“One is the ferocious leader of the legendary X-Men and world-famous star of comic books, cartoons, video games and movies…the other is a nine-time Pro Bowl selection, a six-time All-Pro and a member of the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team…both are the best they are at what they do.” said Bill Rosemann, Editor, Marvel Custom Solutions. “A peaceful family man while off the field, once he donned his #20 jersey, Brian Dawkins — inspired by and embodying the best traits of the tenacious and unstoppable Wolverine — was one of the most intense, hard-hitting, resilient and respected players in the history of the game. Marvel is excited and honored to partner with the Eagles and AAA in honoring one of Philly’s finest.”

This Sunday, don’t miss out on the historic retirement of Brian Dawkins “#20” at the Lincoln Financial Field during halftime of the matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants. And for fans in attendance, don’t forget to pick up your exclusive Brian Dawkins poster, created by Marvel Custom Solutions and compliments of AAA, as you enter the building! The poster will be unveiled on Comcast Sportsnet’s Daily News Live tonight at 5 pm.

ASYLUM PRESS RELEASES ORIGINAL GRAPHIC NOVEL FARMHOUSE AS SIMULTANEOUS WEB COMIC AND DIGITAL FIRST COMICS APP

Farmhouse, a psychological neo noir thriller, is written by playwright Elizabeth J. Musgrave (Hell Comes to Hollywood) and illustrated by Szymon Kudranski (Spawn).

Sept. 27, 2012 (Los Angeles) Frank Forte announces that Asylum Press will release the original graphic novel Farmhouse as an ongoing web comic series and digital app.

Farmhouse is the story of a drifter named Sam Corneile who returns home to take a job at a local mental institution where he discovers a group of patients being exploited under an art therapy regimen. While there, he falls for Helen, a feisty but troubled woman who dares him to confront his past. This psychological thriller examines what lurks deep within the human mind, both sane and insane.

“This was my first graphic novel and it was very exciting to see it come to life visually”, explains writer Elizabeth J. Musgrave, “Szymon really nailed the dark and gritty feel of the characters and the mental ward.”

“Farmhouse was a challenging story for me to illustrate, it provided me the opportunity to work in a different style that complimented the setting”, says Szymon Kudranski, “If anyone is interested in how my work looked before Spawn and Penguin, they should check out that book.”

Farmhouse #1 is 100% FREE and available on Comixology, ComicsPlus (Iverse), Graphicly, Diamond Digital, MyDigitalComics, DrivethruComics, Amusedom as well as stand alone apps and epubs on KindleFire, Nook, Kobo, ibookstore, and Googlebooks. Forthcoming issues will all be .99.
