Fanboy Buzz - Episode #048

This time we talk about Michael Shannon as Zod, Smallville teasing us some more, DC takes a note from them and teases us a bit about Green Lantern too. We also talk about the Ultimate Spiderman Animated Series, Nicolas Cage getting his comic book back (or does he?), a bit more about Blue Water and Family Guy coming to comics. We wrap up our Comic news section by talking about Spider-Woman, Wolverine Anime and information on the new Deadpool movie. As usual we have our ComicCollectorLive Pick of the Week, Off the Beaten Path and Jason Dyer’s Rapid Fire reviews. Finally, what better way to end a podcast than a little Fanboy Wars. Call us at 239-244-2899! Thanks for checking out the Fanboy Buzz – A weekly comic book podcast.

I’m playing some catch up here, so if you’ve all mentioned this in a later podcast, I didn’t know.

About Welling wearing the Superman suit, when the show started, the producers said we’d never see Tom wear the suit. Because at the point, it would not longer be Smallville. (They did hint at there being a spin-off show called Metropolis if ratings were still high, but nothing came from that other than rumor.)

A couple of seasons in, when they realized the show had staying power, they said we might see the suit in the last shot as Welling flies off or something. Of course, that’s when they still expected Smallville to only last 4 or 5 seasons.

Although I’ll count us lucky if we get to see the suit in action for any significant amount of time (based on what the original producers used to say), I think they owe it to the fans at this point.
